Brett Hool [b. Santa Monica, Calif.] is singer, songwriter, and guitarist for experimental folk ensemble We Are The West. Emerging from the literal underground of Los Angeles, with their renowned concert series inside a parking garage, onstage We Are The West has supported rock acts such as Lord Huron and Pete Yorn, as well as chamber artists Kinan Azmeh [Silk Road Ensemble] and Real Vocal String Quartet.

In 2010 Hool released his first album Apparitions, and has since released four critically acclaimed EPs with We Are The West. He holds degrees in writing from Stanford University and Columbia University, and his songs have been featured by Canal+, Universal (France), JVC (Japan), Warner Music International, and the Surfrider Foundation. We Are The West is currently producing their first full­length album The Golden Shore with Grammy Award­winning engineer Husky Höskulds [Tom Waits, Ornette Coleman, Elvis Costello & Allen Toussaint].
